Church Building Nears completion

Finishing touches to the new church building are now underway in India. The Yelchanahalli church building work is nearly done but the interior will still need to be done.

"Our church building construction is at the final level but not fully finished," said Pastor Johnson. "We will do the rest of the work as soon as possible," he added.

Despite financial difficulties the work has been hurried along as renting another building is proving very expensive. The church building should be dedicated at the end of the month, at which time Pastor Johnson and wife Thankam will move into their accommodation within the building.

Without any further financial help it will be difficult for the interior of the building to be completed. Any donations towards the completion of this project will be gratefully received.

Mailing List Information Request

We are reviewing our current mailing list that has remained the same for some time. If you have received an update card from us, please fill it in and send it back so that we can make sure our mailing list list is up to date and reaching the right. Thank you.

Many things have changed in the world since our last newsletter. Maybe some of us are facing hardships and uncertainty?

However, we know that even in good or bad times, God wants us to keep looking to Him and keep trusting Him. Maybe we have felt let down or disillusioned, but God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

Maybe we feel like we are going through the desert, but ahead there are mountains and fruitful vegetation. God is saying to us, "Keep trusting Me and I will lead you on to the promised land."

God never breaks a promise. Even in hardship, God is faithful and He provides for us. Just as He provides for us here, He can provide for our friends in India. Let's be faithful in our prayers and in our giving and listen to God's prompting.

Lord, help us to be your faithful, obedient servants. Give us the health and strength we need and help us to pass on your message to those around us. Amen.

-Paul and Sarah

School's OUt - Time for VBS

Fun was had by the children at the orphanage recently, when they joined in with Vacation Bible School (VBS).

They all completed their annual examination and enjoyed a more relaxed time, out of the normal school routine. They had dance workshops, drama workshops, drawing, games, and more, all while learning more about God and learning what He means in their lives.

The children are now back in their school routine, and are even learning a new subject, IT. Thanks to three computers being donated to the orphanage and a computer teacher being appointed, the children now have the advantage of growing up learning IT skills.

These skills will prove invaluable when they reach adulthood and come to seek employment. More support is still needed for the vital teachers at the school.

News in Brief

TAX BACK waiting to be received, amounted to just over £800 for the financial year April 2008- April 2009. When received this will be sent over to India towards the cost of finishing the main church building.

MORE finance is needed to keep the orphanage running on a day to day basis. It costs around £3 per week to look after a child at the orphanage. This includes clothes, food, accommodation, and schooling. Sponsoring a child ensures the regular income needed to look after these children. If you would like to sponsor a child or know somebody that would like to, please contact us for an information pack.

PASTOR JOHNSON is still feeling weak but is carrying out duties as best he can. A lot of his weakened health is to do with him getting older, but nobody knows his real age as he doesn't have a birth certificate.
